This talk will be held at the Los Altos Library and will not be available online.
California native plants differ from typical garden plants as they have their own rhythm. Helen Popper's book, California Native Gardening: A Month by Month Guide, explains that "spring" typically begins in October, when much of California leaves the dry season behind. Helen will provide calendar-based information for both beginning and experienced native gardeners.
Helen Popper is the author of California Native Gardening, A Month-by-Month Guide. She has been honored as one of the ten best garden authors of California by Live Outside. Having collected the insights of dozens of dedicated professional and amateur native gardeners, she’s delighted to pass them along.
