Join Craige Edgerton and Alyssa LoGalbo on a wildflower walk at Tulare Hill. The hill and surrounding 330 acres of serpentine grasslands are home to the endangered Bay checkerspot butterfly and Santa Clara Valley dudleya (Dudleya setchellii). A portion of the hill makes up the Tulare Hill Ecological Preserve.
The walk will be 2-3 miles in length and includes a short walk up the hill, about 300 ft. elevation gain and some off-trail hiking.
Bring snacks and plenty of water. Heavy rain cancels. Liability waivers for Tulare Hill are required. They will be available at the hike.
RSVP is required to join the hike. Open to CNPS members only. Please ensure your CNPS membership is current. To become a member, visit www.cnps.org/membership. No drop-ins please and space is limited. To RSVP on Meetup, please visit our Chapter’s Meetup group, here: www.meetup.com/California-Native-Plant-Society-Santa-Clara-Valley-Chapter/. We open the RSVPs one week before the event. Find your event within the group and tap/click the “Attend” button to reserve your spot.
