 "><p>McClellan Ranch Preserve is part of a 60-acre open space and recreatio
 nal area owned by the City of Cupertino. Harnessing the power of volunteers
 , youth stewards and neighbors, Grassroots Ecology has helped transform thi
 s previously-degraded habitat into a lush and biodiverse meadow. We will re
 flect on the successes and challenges of this 10-year restoration project a
 nd provide strategies for gardeners interested in revitalizing or adding to
  their own projects.</p><p><strong>Grassroots Ecology</strong> is a nonprof
 it organization dedicated to caring for public lands and waters across Sant
 a Clara and San Mateo Counties. In collaboration with public&nbsp;landowner
 s, governments, schools, corporations and other nonprofits, each year we en
 gage thousands of people in hands-on education and service that improves ou
 r local environment. Our core programs are Habitat Restoration, Community S
 cience, Urban Ecology, Environmental Education and our Native Plant Nursery
