Our Chapter will hold its 49th annual Wildflower Show on Saturday, Apr il 27th from 9:30am to 4:00pm at West Valley College in Saratoga. The show’s theme is Bringing Biodiversity Home. This famil y-friendly event features hundreds of native wildflowers and plants on disp lay as well as a variety of activities for all ages. The event and parking are all free to the public.

A wealth of talks will be offered during the show. Our keynote speaker is Bart O’Brien, Director of the Regional Par ks Botanic Garden (RPBG) and one of the authors of California Native Pl ants for the Garden. Other talks and workshops will offer the opportun ity to learn about gardening for bees and birds, bioblitzes, wildflower arr angements and more.

Attendees will also be able to take tours of the Vasona Creek Restoration Project and the Biology Department’s Moon Garden. A selection of native plants and native plant art, T-shirts, books and othe r related goods will be available for purchase. A SOD (Sudden Oak Death) Bl itz Station will be available at the show for people who would like to part icipate in the 2024 SOD Blitz. This is your opportunity to participate in t his important citizen science effort to understand and control this deadly disease that threatens our oak trees.
