DESCRIPTION:The Tejon Ranch, straddling the Tehachapi Mountains from the San Joaquin Va
 lley to the Mojave Desert, occupies more than 400 square miles of varied la
 ndscapes with elevations ranging from about 500’ along the southern rim of 
 the San Joaquin Valley to more than 6800’ along the Tehachapi crest. For th
 e past seven years Neal has had the privilege of working with the Tejon Ran
 ch Conservancy documenting botanical resources on Tejon Ranch. Neal will di
 scuss some of the elements that make the Tejon Ranch a hotspot of botanical
  diversity, along with other interesting aspects of the Ranch flora. He wil
 l also share photos of some of the more than 40 different special status pl
 ant species currently known to occur on the Ranch.\nNeal Kramer is an Indep
 endent Consulting Botanist with work focusing on rare plant surveys, plant 
 inventories, and vegetation mapping. He received his BA in Botany from the 
 University of California, Berkeley, and an MS in Forest Ecology from the Un
 iversity of Idaho. Neal enjoys plant photography and has contributed more t
 han 16,000 images to the CalPhotos database. \n
