Join us as we learn and practice methods of identifying the native pla nts of our region (aka keying). For our November 22 meeting the topic will be Native Oaks of the Bay Area. There are seven common oaks in our San Francisco Bay Area. We’ll examine extensive plant samples and material as well as graphics, so everyone will learn how to key these iconic features o f California.
We use the current edition of The Jepson Manual. Bring your own copy and a hand lens, plus plant samples if you have them. Microsc opes are also available. We meet at the Peninsula Conservation Center (PCC), 3921 E. Bayshore Road in Palo Alto. For more information please cont act Joe Cernac at This ema il address is being protected from spambots.
